Because everyone knows that regular (film) cameras are far superior to digital cameras. Hang on a sec, or was it the other way around? Who can follow in these days? Well, before I digress too farfrom the topic, can take a look at the ancient battle, and see if we can determine which brand is best.

While it is true that there are certain photographers in the crowd who swear by a certain brand of camera, I'm not one of them. While I no longer canon than any other, I have to float a Kodak, Olympus and Fuji around the house somewhere. So my personal bias get in the wild.

When the digital camera sales were not specified what theThere was fire, then by Amazon.com Canon would be a clear winner. As I write this, Canon produces 18 of the top 25 best-selling cameras on their bestseller list. In addition, Canon held 9 of the 10 top spots, with the top-3, the PowerShot A570 IS, the PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph, and the PowerShot SD850.

The other strange thing I noticed about some of the other lists, is the inclusion of video cameras. In particular, the brand of Flip Video cameras. I thinkthat a little strange, since it really only semi-decent video, and most other video cameras, at least as good. Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, Kodak, and even seem to make a few top spots, but not like Canon does.

Sure, sure, sure, it seems Canon cameras, sell more than anyone else. But are they really that much better? And so what if they are, maybe I will not follow the crowd. I like afterall, in my own drummer:) But hey, while the analysis was able to take thingssay, a look at a few other analysts have. Perhaps there is a consensus among this group.

Ok, so I've seen a bit Gander at the head of camera review sites, what they had to say. And I'm afraid I have to admit that it is not too good for the anti-Canon crowd. Canon seems to have once again gained much praise from the critics. According to the summary of a number of five-star - top 100 choices Camera, Canon appears to occupy more than 50% of the top places, with Sony and NikonBoth reach around 25%. There were a few other nice camera models, but not statistically significant.

If your new to the world of digital cameras, at least that should give you a sense of who the big dogs are in this business. Canon is tough to beat, but it is worth noting that all the cameras I own have performed well for me. This includes the non-Canon cameras. It really comes down to the right camera for you, at a price you can. make
